Our Aims

The aim of this study was to know whether mindfulness training can support University of Cambridge students to study and thrive. We were concerned about the rising levels of stress among university students at Cambridge and in other Universities and wanted to develop prevention. Eight-week Mindfulness Skills for Students courses were provided as part of the study in Michaelmas 2016 and Lent 2017.

Our results

Thanks to more than 600 student volunteers taking part, our study showed that the Mindfulness Skills for Students course helps build resilience in university students and improve their mental health. If you would like to read more:

We are a group of researchers from the University of Cambridge working together with the University Counselling Service, with the support of Educational and Student Policy and representatives from the student and college bodies.
