Intimate image abuse

Revenge Porn Helpline supports adults (aged 18+) who are experiencing intimate image abuse, also known as, revenge porn (including ‘deepfake pornography’ and ‘upskirting’).

Stalking

Suzy Lamplugh Trust can provide help and advice to those who are being subjected to stalking.

Paladin is a national stalking advocacy service – supporting anyone who has been subjected to harassment and stalking.

Legal advice

National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV)

The NCDV can help you obtain an injunction to prevent further abuse from your partner. The services are free of charge, and the centre will refer you to an experienced solicitor who, if you are eligible, will arrange Community Legal Service funding, or will accept payments in stages if you have to pay your own fees.

Rights of Women

Rights of Women is committed to informing, educating and empowering women on the law and their legal rights. They run a free telephone legal advice line for women.

Specialist support for LGBTQIA+ community

Galop is a national organisation providing support for all LGBT+ people who've experienced hate crime, domestic abuse or sexual violence.

Switchboard is an LGBT+ helpline offering a safe space to discuss any issues impacting LGBT+ individuals, including but not limited to support for victims of sexual assault & harassment.

Bi Survivors Network is a specific mutual-support network for bisexual survivors that is open to people of all gender identities. A space to find solidarity and support amongst individuals with common experiences of sexual violence.

Specialist support for Black, Asian and Minoritised Ethnic groups

Southall Black Sisters is a gender-related violence support service for Black (Asian and African-Caribbean) women

Sistah Space is a space for African – Carribean heritage women & girls who’ve experienced domestic or sexual abuse or who have lost a loved one to domestic violence.

Asian Women’s Resource Centre supports BME women experiencing domestic violence.

Chinese Information and Advice Centre provides support and information for Chinese people living in the UK. Also runs Sunflower Support Programme for children and teenagers affected by domestic violence.

Iranian and Kurdish Women’s Rights Organisation (IKWRO) is a specialist support service for Middle Eastern, North African (MENA) and Afghan women and girls living in the UK, who are at risk of all gender-related violence.

Latin American Women’s Aid provides nationally available services and the only refuge for Latin American women in the UK

The Latin American Women’s Rights Service offers free and confidential specialist services for all Latin American women, including advice and counselling for women facing gender violence.

Hersana is a charity whose projects and services aim to end violence against black women and girls, empower and educate. Their services and projects include counselling, advocacy, outreach, live chat and training & development.

Muslim Community Helpline is a telephone counselling service for Muslim men and women

Muslim Women’s Network  is a specialist faith and culturally sensitive service for those facing or at risk of abuse

Nour Domestic Violence provides Islamic support and advice and raises awareness

So called honour based abuse and forced marriage

Karma Nirvana is a national Honour Based Abuse service- Helpline available to anyone is affected by Honour Based Abuse.

Freedom Charity gives support to victims of forced marriage and violence upon women thought to have brought dishonour on their family.

Ashiana Network working with Black & Minority Ethnic women, particularly South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern women and girls. Services include advice, advocacy, counselling, specialist refuge for women at risk of forced marriage and honour-based violence and those with no recourse to public funds. Ashiana also delivers a range of community-based activities.

Sexual harassment and violence
  • Rape Crisis England & Wales deliver specialist services to those affected by sexual violence and abuse.
  • The Cambridge Rape Crisis Centre offers free and confidential support to survivors of sexual violence, no matter when the abuse happened.
  • The Elms Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in Cambridgeshire offers free, confidential support to anyone who has experienced sexual violence or abuse.
    • You do not need to report to the police to access their services.
    • They provide medical care, emotional support, forensic examinations, and can store evidence for up to seven years if you choose to report later.
    • Their services are available every day between 09:00 and 21:00.
    • Outside these hours, you can still contact them for advice and guidance.

Domestic abuse

National Domestic Abuse Helpline- The freephone, 24 hour National Domestic Abuse Helpline.

Cambridge Women's Aid provides dedicated and specialist services to women and children experiencing physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse in their homes and/or intimate relationships. Information for refuge accommodation and community outreach can be viewed on their website.
